the Cult of the Dead

For us the Cult of the Dead is really important. We believe that nearly everything is connected with our ancesors, who are not on this world anymore. They are the ones who foster us during the battles, as well as teach us, but also punish, if we, the young blood, did anything wrong and even though they did their best to make of us the same, or something even better than they were, bringed them disgrace.

Death

After a member's death, the Shamans will make sure to satifsify the soul, by saying a thankful prayer, so the soul won't suffer emotionally after it's afterlife will end - it won't have so strong thoughts about things it has done wrong but instead will be proud of all the good ones, and putting an approperiate thing just by the body (depending on the situation it might be a gun, a bullet, a knife, a flower, a rock, etc.). It must be the opposite of what the person did wrong during his/her life, for example, if the member was not enough brave, then it will be kind of a weapon. If the being has died too early, the body must be besprinkled with its own blood, so the group will easy its conscience and the ghost won't be as angry.

The Afterlife

We do believe in the Afterlife, but regarding our beliefs, it takes only seven days after the death (or a month if the being has died with open eyes in a battle). This is the time the poor soul wanders though the world, revanges and teaches. Then comes the time of enternal darkness. That's why it's so important to satisfy the dead being untill it will reach its end. Behind this thin line comes only obscurity, with the feelings of last things the creature has thought about. If it was what the soul was proud of, and if the being was sure its life was satisfying, than the darkness has the character of Heaven, but it works also in the other way. If the person wasn't sure if its life time was fully used and if it doesn't regret anything, then it remains unquenchable  forever and often mentally haunts the group.

Getting a Mate and Offspring

As offspring is something sacred here, getting a mate is not. So pups, kits, cubs, chicks and all the other little creatures might be born of people not connected emotionally, though, one must persuade the other why to create new life exactly with him/her. And if you're wondering why is it so important to have offspring here, I must tell you the answer is easy. The older you are, the more people respect you, and if there is some young blood born out of you, then it means you have already reached a high and respectful level in your life. However, as I mentioned, getting a mate here is not so important and in some cases even discouraged. Explanation can be found in the description of the Mother War, and it's only because of her. Although, I'm going to write it also here. Offspring is a symbol of taking care of the group, as well as physical contribution to its development. Here we indeed consider taking care of the syndicate as a precious thing, but loving a mate is something totally different. And this way of love and loyalty isn't really compatible with ruthlessness and brutality, which are the most important character traits in our army, except for bravery of course. So if you really love someone and want to become his/her life partner, you must prove the rest of the group, that you still have the mentioned traits. How? It depends on your rank. Relatively high positioned members (The Mother War, the Sister Pain and the Brother Death, the Children Sins, the Lion's Hearts, the Eyes, the Connectors, the) must kill another predatory being, whilst all the lower ranks (except the Weaklings, since nobody really cares about them) are only expected to murder a prey by themeselves.
